I can't wait to go to Vic's! I work with someone who said it was her Granddad's favorite place to go--and the kids still go when they miss him to hang out and eat his favorite food.

That was a great after-party! Thanks for coming...and writing about it. The next on-stage podcasts are with Scott Conant, Alex Guarnaschelli and Andrew Zimmern! NBPAC.org if anyone is interested. Get the VIP tickets for the after party. Easy train ride from Manhattan.

Glessner House makes for a fine tour. It’s not just a “house by a famous architect” but a famous home designed around and filled with the idiosyncracies of the family that commissioned it.

For another glimpse into sumo culture (and Noh theater), you might enjoy reading The Street of a Thousand Blossoms by Gail Tsukiyama…one of the two main characters works his way up through the ranks of the wrestling world over the course of the story.

Hi I’ve always felt that Mr. Grossich never got the credit he deserved as an early cocktail renaissance man. Bar & Books and Campbell Apartment were nothing if not early resurrectors of Martini and cocktail culture. I also thought that Empire Room should’ve been a hit.

Never met him but would’ve liked to. RIP.

Thank you for the updates.
