Cheers to this! I don’t believe there are any outposts of note in Kansas City, however I like to think I celebrated Franksgiving earlier this fall when work took me to Detroit, and I gave franks at American Coney Island (earmarked after reading your post).

"We drove to Clifton, New Jersey, arguably the hot dog capital of the Garden State. Our schedule was ambitious. We made three stops: Rutt’s Hut, The New Corral and The Hot Grill. A town like Clifton can make that sort of miracle happen." I texted this to five friends last night - one said that he needs to travel from Colorado one year for a Franksgiving weekend. Only in Clifton.

I'm going to be in south-central Michigan on Franksgiving, about an hour and a half west of Ann Arbor. Would LOVE some recco's on where to go.

Unfortunately, it seems that Sippin Santa will not be celebrated in NYC this year.

On the subject of hot dogs, I was thinking of The Mix recently on a quick vacation to Iceland. It turns out that the top snack in Iceland is the hot dog, and there is a quite famous stand in Reykjavik called Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur. The lamb hot dogs are quite good, but I was so so on the most popular topping, which was a remoulade. Consider a quick 5 hour flight for your next Franksgiving. You won't be disappointed. (I'll hold off discussing the Reykjavik cocktail scene for another comment).

Awesome, what a great tradition. There was a great Chicago-style walk up stand right by my house in Henderson, NV ("Vegas") called Hot Dog Heaven. I always took my parents there when they came to visit from Texas. Dad loves his hot dogs, even at 99 but now that In n Out has arrived in Texas he's all about that, but I digress. HDH sold out, the stand was razed and now it's sadly a bank. If you're ever in Vegas check out Buldogi's.

I love this! What a perfect example of creating your own holiday traditions. No hoopla necessary. Just loved ones, fun, and a dash of sentiment.
