Based on your feature, we made it to Sugar Monk last night. I agree about the comment of not being a fan of overwrought drinks, but these guys stepped up the line without going over it. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening there and had some interesting and delicious drinks.

Love seeing an uptown cocktail bar featured here! We recently moved in an apartment not far from Sugar Monk and unfortunately there aren't a lot of great options for cocktails in this part of town. I knew the drinks were good, but had no idea what was going on behind the scenes! So glad to see them getting some press here!

Interesting about Portillo's serving a veg Chicago Dog. We served a bunch this past week with the option of our handmade dog or a Field Roast Stadium Dog. Nobody whined about the absent snap. LOL!

We’ve been going up to Sugar Monk (sporadically) from their early weeks, because a friend lives down the street and she summoned us. Ektoras’ drinks are *exactly* the kind of overwrought hyper-culinary drink I usually loathe, and yet his are usually sufficiently restrained and interesting that I actually enjoy the novelty. Few mixologists can pull it off. And I kind of like some of these Aegean-regional flavors like mastic.
