I’m going to guess if I ever make it there Maison Premiere will be my Vieux Carré place? Thank you. Will be dreaming of a visit.

Good list. I’d give Katana Kitten a nod for the whisky highball, too—it’s what I drink there, and it’s always spot on, if straightforward. I would also a genuine classic that is simply overlooked: the Sherry Cobbler at both Maison Premiere and Gage & Tollner.

One update: Had a Negroni at Brooklyn Inn tonight, and while delicious, I’m sad to report they’ve updated their glassware and those awesome, weird little rocks glasses are gone!

Great list Robert! The Gibson at Zou Zou's is worth checking out as well. The onions were delicious... and fresh;)

A perfect, essential list! Only update: when I was there last month, Maison Premiere swapped out the Old Raj gin for its King Cole Martini and is now using Ireland's Bertha's Revenge. It's great, but to me, it'll always be Old Raj (which is why I bought two bottles when the pandemic hit and I can say, it helped get us through the year-and-a-half when MP wasn't open.)
