Robert - as I think I've told you, I have been following your work on cocktails/bars/bar culture since the publication of the Martini Cocktail, one of the best books on THE single cocktail ever written. I think I actually found that book as the Martini Obsessive I am through surfing YouTube of all places right after covid; you made a couple of your favorite martinis on an IG reel Mary Kate took during the lockdown. From there, I was onto the Old Fashioned, 3-Ingredient Cocktails, Modern Classic Cocktails, and, of course, your seminal Encyclopedia. Somehow, I found the Mix early last year and knew right away I had to become a Regular. It has been the friendliest, warmest solace online from life in our city. During the holidays, you and Mary Kate brought us such Christmas cheer during what was one of the most beautiful (but isolating) times of our lives. I look forward to another year reading the Mix and hope to see you both in the city of my alma mater. Warmest & Congratulations!
Ps. Reading Mary Kate's contributions to the Mix is equally enthralling. I absolutely loved the "21" recreation piece - I even bought the old Lomonaco cookbook!
What an amazing book. It's much thicker than I thought, but I love the history - I have only been to 21 twice, but I count myself very fortunate I got to experience the last of those places. Once Rebecca and I just walked in after a long night at the office (she used to work on 49th and 6th) and somehow got a seat in the bar - this was 2018 or so. They were very friendly. Anyway, congrats again!
Looking forward to another year of starting family & friends conversations with ‘’Hey, I read this really interesting write-up in The Mix about [ ] … .’’ Cheers to the Mixmasters for the past 3 years of wonderful content & all you have in store for The Mix Community in 2025 🥂 🍾
Congratulations on your anniversary! (If looking for leather, you really can't go wrong with Lederhosen, to put you in a sunny Springtime beer garden mood.)
Here's hoping that nothing but more enjoyment and success awaits your in the coming years. - Kurt in Reno
Congrats on 3 years. Have enjoyed the reading since subscribing, and Adina and I were pleased to meet and converse with you and Mary Kate in Milwaukee last Summer at the Bittercube Cocktail competition. Keep the Hot Dog stuff coming- I'm a fan. Some of your haunts such as Milwaukee and Door County are places we often frequent. Cheers!
Congratulations on three. I feel so lucky to get both of your voices in my feed on a regular basis. I hope my enthusiasm for your work comes through. I’m extremely grateful to have made your acquaintance that Duff review couldn’t have said it better.
Three years of enriching our tastebuds and lives in general—congrats and thanks for all you do, Robert and Mary Kate!! The Mix is time and $ very well spent.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! Hang on to your hat, Simonson! Here we go!! Year four and I am ready! 🏁

We're so happy you're here with us!!
Thanks, John! Your enthusiasm does come through. Love how you try many of the recipes.
Cheers to three years, kids!
We're toddlers!
Well, I apparently had my first drink as a toddler, so it tracks. ;)
Ha! That’s young! I was at least 7, unless you count a tbsp of vodka and orange juice for the croup, then a year? Lolz.
Thanks, Amanda!
Happy anniversary to the Mix!
Hi Kathleen! Thanks!
Thanks, Kathleen!
Congrats! Love this space. What should our “3-Ingredient Cocktail” be to celebrate this weekend ? 😉
Burns Night is coming up. How about a Bobby Burns?
