Hmm, I've got all 50 in there (plus the second locations if they're mentioned) - if you're on desktop keep scrolling down on the list. for some reason the map view doesn't load everything unless you scroll which is quite annoying!
It’s felt like the global cocktail center has shifted away from NYC in recent years, but this list begs to differ : ) Angel’s Share is definitely next on my “to-visit” list.
And I hope we can get some more representatives from Queens on here in the next 12 months! (I owe you and MK an intro to Mar’s…)
Great list! And I've been to more than I thought considering I am more a wine drinker.
a collection of unsolicited thoughts!
- Bar Goto Niban really does have great bar snacks. Once when there my friend and I got their celery snack and we still talk about it (celery of all things!)
- I haven't been to The Campbell since the before times but I did try and go once in late 2021 and the line was super long and more sceney than I remember. Maybe I just went at a weird time?
- The fireplace at Clover Club is probably my favorite reason to go there
- The cheese curds at Long Island Bar are *so good*
- I appreciate at Milady's that they have a few half-sized cocktails. Sometimes I just want a little more to drink and that fits the bill
Now I’m jonesing to visit New York again and take the grand tour! What a list. So enticing, it would take real dedication and a powerful thirst to sample as many as possible.
If I was a competitive person I'd say, ooh challenge accepted! But a) I'm not that competitive, b) I'm old and wise enough to know better, and c) even if I was dumb enough to attempt it, I'd need at least another 2 weeks to recover and I have better things to do with my vacation time - like go to the total solar eclipse in April!!
Are there any historical cocktails associated with a solar eclipse?
I don't know if I should be proud or somewhat worried that I've been to about 30 of these (and loved them all). I still have a little bit of work to do.
Instead of "A gathering at Porchlight", I feel like the caption should be Sother Teague, ms. franky marshall, Dave Arnold, Dale DeGroff, et al. at Porchlight. I'm looking forward to frozen drinks at Super Power.
50!! 5-0. Nice job, Simonson.
If anyone wants the list in Google Maps form: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tyRk4ETuBsZHcYb4A
Wow. That's quite something. Thanks for doing that. Are you going to add the remainder of the bars?

I see! Thank you. Such a great tool!

Second some Queens representation on your next NYC column!
Lorna W
I'll have to do some exploring. There are good cocktail bars in Queens, but not sure if others have reached the iconic level yet, beyond Dutch Kills.
How I miss seeing Pegu Club on these lists.
Me too!
Nice list...like a trail of crumbs to lead us back to the City.
Follow it!!

The cheese curds are the best.
Love seeing Park Slope’s Blueprint make the list!
It feels like this list should be a bar crawl...
A very long one.
We’d be crawling by the end! 😂
Great article!
Thanks!

It would, indeed. Best to spread the visits out over time.
thank you for this excellent compilation. i have my work cut out for me on my next trip.
I know you can do it!
May they all remain evergreen, and full!
Agreed!
Oof!! For those of us who have to visit, that's a serious list for a couple weeks of going on a serious toot!!
It would take a couple weeks to complete the circuit responsibly.

30 is pretty good!
👏👏👏
Same here! I think we should be proud!

I was being coy.
Good eyes!! 👏👏👏
i'm in NY for the next three weeks, looking forward to discovering some of these places...thanks
Awesome. Hope you enjoy them.
